Government and Community Relations

Tufts University is committed to working closely with federal, state and local governments, as well as in partnership with its host communities to best serve the public interest.

Mary R. Jeka, Vice President for University Relations, coordinates the Tufts teams on Beacon Hill and Capitol Hill to ensure strong relationships with representatives in Massachusetts, Washington D.C. and the executive branches of government. [Bio]

Barbara Rubel, Director of Community Relations, works with neighbors, agencies, organizations, elected officials and municipal government offices to build strong partnerships between Tufts and its host communities.

Tufts Neighborhood Service Fund (TNSF)

The Tufts Neighborhood Service Fund is a giving option of the university's annual Community Appeal. Each year, Tufts employees are asked to contribute to charitable organizations that provide service locally, nationally, and internationally. TNSF supports our host communities and the important work being done by Tufts volunteers with community organizations in Medford, Somerville, Grafton and Boston's Chinatown.
